Chapped Lips?

For the girls and guys who have problems with chapped lips...

here's one product that I've personally tested while I was in Las Vegas.

ok, so any non-cheap lipbalm would do as it should. the only difference which i liked with this product is that it doesn't make your lips feel sticky. a plus factor would be it
s minty taste that keeps your lips cool to keep you from licking your lips.

a nice way of sharing this is to kiss your BF or GF for transference.

yum!

can be found in Rustan's Essences or Beauty Bar.

Living in the Cold Regions (or just an Air-conditioned apartment)

I got a request from my best friend to post more info about moisturizing the skin because he now lives in a frigid place up there in the north.

luckily, i naturally have dry skin and I live in an airconditioned apartment. But, the sucker thought that it could still get any moisture out of my skin. Ha! tough luck!

so anyway, the product that I'd like to share is the Neutrogena Body Oil. It's an in-bath product that can help keep the moisture locked in your skin. You do this while you're still inside the shower.

After your bath/ shower, don't towel off. put a few drops of the body oil onto your palm and rub it all over your body. It has a light oil formula so you won't be sticky and slimy with oil. No need to towel off. the dry air in the environment will evaporate the excess water. If you feel the need to towel off, just dab the towel on your skin. rubbing it to your skin will cause the oil to get rubbed off too.

this will leave your skin soft.

there's another suggestion written on the bottle. it says something about putting it in your hot bath. haven't tried it though. Don't have time to take hot baths. drop me a comment if you've tried this.

Where can you buy the product: this wasn't available in Manila before, but I'm seeing them in Watson's and other supermarkets now.

Traveling Long Haul Flights

traveling to and from the US now is such a hassle, especially if you're flying long haul direct flights. For the women, i know you know what I mean -- yes, we need our moisturizers onboard. A bottle of mineral water near you would also be nice. You are advised to drink lots of fluids while onboard. Ever since they disallowed the bringing of liquids and moisturizers onboard, life in a 14-hour flight became hell. well, some airlines would provide each passenger a bottle of mineral water like Philippine Airlines.

Air in the plane is so dry that everything wet when left alone for a few minutes on the table loses a significant amount of moisture.

so, what do I do? I learned this from a friend's sister.

1. bring an empty sports bottle with you. The moment you're seated, ask the flight attendant to fill the bottle with mineral water. Smart and simple, isn't it?
2. no moisturizers onboard? No way! It's really "No moisturizer bottles and tubes". So, before you finish packing your carry-on, soak a few cotton pads or balls with your favorite
moisturizer. Then, pack them in a Ziploc bag together with your make-up kit. Just pull out a ball or a pad whenever you need to re-hydrate your skin.

I learned this when I was already in the US before I fly back to Manila. Since, I've already
packed my moisturizer, I went to the nearest pharmacy and bought a wet wipe for the face. I know that wet wipes for babies have already been available ever since, but the more "adult" wet wipes would do you better. Because, let's face it, we're not babies anymore. We need something more. So I bought a pack of Oil of Olay Regenerist Micro-Exfoliating Wet Cleansing Cloths. It both cleanses, hydrates and infuses your skin with an anti-aging formula.

drop me some comments if you have other tips for traveling.

Herbal Soap that Exfoliates too

A classmate of mine introduced this product to me once when we visited Beauty Bar (by: Stores Specialist, Inc.)

The Green Tea Line of Earth Therapeutics (www.earththerapeutics.com) is an absolute divine especially for the 25 year olds and up. It has been studied that Green Tea contains lots of natural antioxidants, which made it become one of the most drank tea in the world now.

I'm currently using Earth Therapeutics' Green Tea Herbal Soap.

Each bar has rice bran in it that also helps in exfoliating dry and dull skin cells. The package says that it's gentle enough to be used everyday. But i think everyday exfoliation is just way too much. 2 to 3 times a week use should already work wonders.

I suggest that you store the bar in a dry place if not in use as it melts quickly. A good addition to storing this bar of soap is that it smells so nice and fresh that it eventually makes your bathroom smelling the same way too. No need for bathroom scents.
